GCE Passive Income Challenge – Day 4 Domains and Websites

Oh man…. Was that ever painful. What en epic struggle. About 1am last night and just before writing this I managed SCRAPE up 10 keywords that I’m going to use in this challenge. I’ve had to “experiment” with a few honestly, which is code for I think they are shit. I had to choose a few weird words but you never know what they might do.

Of course you want to know what keywords I ended up with right!

I’m going to keep them all a secret for now and “reveal” them progressively through the challenge.

Why?

Well honestly, if I find a market that goes crazy and accidentally make some money (and trust me it will be an accident), I don’t want any one knowing what it is and therefore competing with me. Sounds untrustworthy eh, and well maybe it is but if they tank I’ll definitely share them so you can either have a crack or steer clear.

Now I’ve got my keywords I need to do something with them. And what I plan on doing with them tonight /tomorrow is setting up domains names. Exact match ones to be precise!

Huh?

Yea, so basically I want to buy a domain name that’s as close to my keyword as possible. Why? Well there is a “theory” I want to test, as part of the this challenge that exact match keywords rank well in our friend big GG.

Once I have the domain setup I’ll need to install and setup a website. But, because I’m using a different domain name company to my hosting company I need to “point” my domain to my hosting company. I really like namecheap for domain names and hostgator for host names. Pointing the domain to host gator is as easy as “transfer domain”.

I was actually thinking of getting an outsourcer to help me setup all the domain names and setup the basic websites however its SO easy and fast I’d thought I’d save a few dollars and do it myself. What I might do is set a few up and document it.

Beyond the challenge I might consider getting someone to do this for me.

No time to chitchat I’ve got 10 domains to register and 10 sites to setup.

  1. odd thing, I had coppied your blog url (http://thegreatcubicleescape.com/gce-passive-income-challenge-%E2%80%93-day-4-domains-websites) because I needed to come back, but no matter how many times I tried I kept getting “page not found” when I pasted it directly into the URL bar, but the site works fine when I find it in google, anyone else said that to you? ha perhaps it is just me

  2. Hey Hank,
