I started the Great Cubicle Escape Blog because I wanted to document all my crazy attempts in to trying to start a passive income business. It’s my aim that in the long term one or many of these passive income businesses will allow me to escape the office cubicle. I also hope that by occasionally reading this you’ll see what works, what fails and what’s just plain stupid. In case your wondering what passive income is, I’ve written about it before you can check it out here but in a nutshell it’s additional income generated through selling information products over then internet.
My long term idea is to experiment with creating and selling information products, eventually turning this into a repeatable process. In turn I want to package up this repeatable process and create my own passive income system which I would sell.
Trouble is however, I don’t really know what I’m doing.
So I really need two things, information products to sell, and some idea of how effectively sell these information products to people who want to buy them.
So, in a moment of brilliance or stupidity I thought I would do an experiment.
I thought I would buy someone else’s passive income system and learn from that. Essentially this is someone selling their own system of “how to” make a million dollars selling online. Now, I know what your thinking, the reason they are millionaires is because they sell that rubbish to people like me who are desperate and vulnerable. Agreed, that’s EXACTLY how these people make their money, after all the “make money online” information product business is one of the biggest markets on the Internet it’s right up there with “lose weight”. So it ain’t a small market.
Obviously this is going to be some sort of rip-off however the concept of this type of system is interesting to me for a few reasons:
Reason 1 – The marketing material mentions that the system contains products called private label rights products or PLR. Interesting, what does this mean? What do these make a million dollar systems actually contain? What can I do with it? How much work is actually involved? Is it just another form of multilevel selling? So many questions, I’m so curious.
Reason 2 – It’s something I want to eventually try to create myself, so my thought here is I’ll purchase this “million dollar” money system and work out if I can reverse engineer it with the view to copy its methods over the next 12 months and build my own.
Crazy I know.
There are a few of these systems getting around covering all ranges of pricing. I’ve found one I’m going to purchase as it’s only $100, a small price to pay for some fun. I’ve been busting to check these crazy things out so I’m going to blow the beer money and sign up and see what’s involved. I’ll share exactly what I find so you guys know if it’s total BS or if there is something to it.
Oh, and the best part is, because I’ve gone and wasted the money for you, you don’t have to !!!
You just get to laugh…
