My Crazy Passive Income Experiment Part 2 – The Unwrap!

In my recent blog My Crazy Passive Income Experiment Part 1 – The Purchase I wrote about how I was going to purchase a passive income system that will put me on the path to riches and allow me to escape the cubicle all by just by following a few simple steps. How could I go wrong!

I ended up purchasing a system called “Underground Selling System”. The sales pitch sounded good, the sales video was solid and I had a $100 budget so I selected this product.

After the purchase I was given access to the “Gold Members” section of the Underground Selling System site (USS from now on). I immediately noticed I was missing some of the things promised in the USS sales video. I know this because I downloaded the flashy promotional sales video so I could one day copy it and so I had it as a reference. I fired off an email to the company and I was eventually given access to the “Platinum Members Section”, not a real great start.

Once inside the website I have access to the following sections; My Purchased Items, a Beginner section, a Bonus section and Help section. Before I have a chance to get clicking on the sections I am greeted with a no fuss video. The video explains how I can extend my purchases by using techniques to break up the products I’ve purchased (more on that later) into smaller sections. That’s all well and good but I don’t even know what I have yet! Time to stop the video and have a look around.

First stop, the Purchased Items section. In here I have access to the following products:

•    How to cure Acne

•    How to stop smoking

•    Weight Loss

•    Make money from Twitter

•    Alternative traffic sources pdf

•    Success accelerator package

This is what I expected to see as these are the things mentioned in the sales video. The Acne, Smoking, Weight Loss and Twitter products are all called Private Label Rights products.

Um what the hell is a PLR product? Well I’m glad you asked. I’ve since learnt that a PLR product gives me master reseller rights to modify and resell a product, in this case a series of how to eBooks. I can sell them at whatever price I want and modify them as I please.

This solves one of my biggest “make money on the internet” problems, what do I sell? Solved, I can now sell these products because I have the rights.

I’ve downloaded these to my pc and I’ll check them out later. For now it’s onto the next section, the Beginner Section. Here I found a series of videos explaining:

•    How to transfer my products onto a web host using a system called FTP

•    How to edit my products using a free webpage editing tool

•    How to create web forms

•    How to add a PayPal button to the products

The videos aren’t bad and get the point across however a theme is beginning to develop as I thought it would. It’s looking like you will need to be technical to fill in the gaps and get busy with this stuff. Damn no easy cubicle esacpe just yet!

The last section I checked out actually has something very cool, a full training pack for internet marketing newbie’s. I’ve downloaded all these videos and to my surprise they are only a year old and actually contain some great stuff. In my mind this is worth the 100 bucks alone. However, it enforces the fact that there are some deep technical concepts that need to be understood.

Right, so in summary let’s see if I answered some of my own initial questions:

What do these make a million dollar systems actually contain? Well this system contains a few PRL products I am yet to fully explore and a rather cool training program.

What can I do with it? I can sell the products I’ve purchased in this system. So I will need learn how to get these products hooked up and running on the web.

How much work is actually involved? It looks like HEAPS of work is involved. I am yet to fully deep dive into the products themselves however it looks like I’ll need things like domain names, hosting accounts, auto responders and product download facilities setup.

Is it just another form of multilevel selling? No it’s straight product sales from what I can tell.
